Happy weekend, friends!
It's back-to-school time! Woot!
Can you feel it? Are you (or is anybody in your family) heading back to school this week? Or can you sense the back-to-school shift where you live or work?
We are starting our 6th year of homeschooling this year, and I've been spending a lot of time this weekend tending to some little final preparations.
Organizing, planning, scheduling, tidying, researching.... I can feel the shift in myself.... from spacious, wide-open, summery (but also somewhat chaotic) freedom, to orderly, scheduled, planned out, disciplined, structure. Part of me feels a tiny bit rebellious today, wanting to just lie around enjoying summer spaciousness forever.... but another part of me is looking forward to the to-do lists, learning, order, and sense of progression, and development that we enjoy during the school year. I lovvvvvve learning, so I'm really grateful for the chance for us to dive into a new semester together.
How about you, friends? How does this time of year feel for you?
As we slide into the school-year, I thought this week would be a great chance for us to return to two of our most foundational practices: sensing for "ease" in our experience + "just being here now."
Anchoring ourselves in the present.
Sensing our body, right here, right now.
Eeeeeeeeeeasy does it.
Breathing...
Moving...
Noticing...
Enjoying...
Soaking up the beautiful little things.
Nothing to prove...
And no need to hold back....
Embracing...
The sunny, late-August days....
The shift into cooler nights, perfect for sitting around a fire...
The last summer blooms and harvests...
The fresh air coming through the open windows...
The crisp, invigorating autumn mornings... (perhaps with a warm, delicious drink in your hands)
Leaning in...
To whatever this week's schedule looks like.
Inviting a little ease into it all....
See you soon, friends!
