Happy weekend, friends!
Oh my gosh, you guys. I'm so very grateful for all of the insights you shared last week while we focused on "sensing your radiance."
I just LOVE what we do together! I love how we can take a tiny little sliver of inspiration and turn it into a week of exploring something so deeply. It's so awesome to get to learn with (and from) you all. Thanks so much for sharing your insights, friends. It's always so inspiring!
This week's focus is inspired by something Alison shared last week after class. Her story resonated with many of us in the circle, and I immediately thought (as I often do, when y'all share): wow, that could be its own fantastic focus. I asked Alison if it would be ok to share her idea and story with you all, and she said yes (yay)! Thanks so much, Alison!
Alison mentioned she's recently been focusing on genuine radiance.
She had noticed that lately, when swimming, she had been moving through a larger range of motion than needed, and that it was causing some pain in her shoulder. She realized that what she needed was actually a smaller range of motion. That not all effort is inherently productive. Which led her to wonder, 'hmmmm.... what other ways might I also be over-extending myself?' So to help keep herself from over-extending, she has recently begun focusing on what she beautifully termed: genuine radiance.
Genuine radiance. Wow. Isn't that lovely?
So that's what we'll be playing with this week, friends: genuine radiance.
Nothing to prove, and no need to hold back. Radiating, yes... Not hiding... Not holding... But also not over-radiating. Not forcing, or over-doing it. Not over-extending ourselves. Just moving genuinely. Allowing our body to open, explore, create, and move freely, in a range of motion that feels right. Easy does it. ..
While we do that, we can then explore:
• What does it feel like to be in a state of genuine radiance?
• Does that intention change how we move? What we notice?
• How might we embody genuine radiance off the dance floor too?
• Are there other areas in life where we're over-extending? Over-exerting? Forcing? Where genuine radiance might be helpful?
Giant thank you to Alison for this week's inspiration! I absolutely love the intention of being genuine in our radiance, and I can't wait to see what we discover together this week.
See you soon, everybody!
💛 Dani
