Sensing how it feels to PLAY.

ree

It’s Halloween week, friend… and I always LOVE how dancing in a costume, seeing you all in costumes, and belting out Halloween songs together helps me lighten up and not take myself soooooooo seriously.

I’m so looking forward to this week!

We have 4 classes left this week — 2 of them Halloween-themed (Monday night, 5:45, at the CF Woman’s Club, and Wednesday night, 5:30, on Zoom), and 2 regular Aya classes...

All will focus on the question: how does it feel to play?

We can also explore things like:

  • Is it easy for you to let yourself play? Is it challenging? Does it depend at all on the environment, or company?

  • Does going into class with the intention of playing change anything about how you move your body or experience class?

  • What do you sense/notice in your body before, during, and after playing?

  • Are there other ways you might bring more play into your week/life?

  • Though play is often portrayed as a loud, external, extroverted, social experience (i.e., kids running around on a playground with joyful shrieks of delight)... What if we eliminate the pressure to look like we're playing or being playful? Is it possible for our play to sometimes be a more subtle, quiet, internal, intrinsic experience?

  • And, last but not least: what happens if you aren't in the mood to play, but you let yourself play anyway?

Alright, friend. That's what we're playing with this week! We’ll dance, sing, lighten up, let loose, and just let ourselves have a little fun… and I cannot wait. As always, looking sooooo forward to seeing you. See you soon!

Much love,

Dani
