Looking up

Updated: 1 day ago

This week, let’s explore how we’re using our eyes.

In class (and throughout life) we can simply be curious and notice things such as:

  • Where am I looking? Up? Down? Around? Out?

  • Are my eyes open? Closed?

  • What am I aiming at? Where am I headed?

  • Is my vision more focused? Blurry? Zoomed in? Zoomed out?

  • What am I looking at? Or looking for?

  • What am I seeing/connecting with?

  • How am I orienting in the world around me?

  • And then, how does that orientation feel (in my body, mind, heart, & spirit)?

Of course—-easy does it, my friend. There’s no need for any answer to be right or wrong... We can simply use this exploration as another practice in presence, and a sweet little chance to discover more about our body (and ourselves).

We can then explore how it feels to invite our eyes to look up.

  • What do you notice/sense in your eyes when you look up? Head? Neck? Chest? Back? Abdomen? Legs? Feet?

  • Does looking up feel comfortable? Uncomfortable? Ordinary? New? Easy? Hard? Fluid? Stiff?  _______?

  • How does it feel to your heart? Your spirit?

  • Does it change how you move/dance?

  • When is it difficult to look up? When is it easy? What helps?

  • Do you want more looking up in your life?

As always, I can’t wait to see what we discover! See you soon!

With love,

💛 Dani
