Hello, sweet souls!
This week's focus is inspired by the work and wisdom of our Aya friend: Alicia Jefferson! Thank you so much, Alicia!
I first met Alicia when we danced at the amphitheater last month, and I'm so grateful I did. When we were talking the other day, I learned that, along with being a mother, and mental health counselor, Alicia also has her own podcast. I was able to listen to an episode earlier this week, and I'm so excited to share it with you, friends. I listened to "Taking Time to Re-Member You" and loved it. It was twenty minutes of calming, nourishing, poetic, inspiring wisdom.
In this episode, Alicia talks about the importance of taking time to re-member (reconnect with, reclaim, reunite) our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves. It's so beautiful, y'all. All throughout the episode, I kept thinking "this would be such a great focus for us to explore in class!"
YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE EPISODE HERE > > So how might we bring this focus into Aya class? We'll start by really highlighting one aspect per week, simply as a way to help us zoom in and have a bit of extra quality-time with it (both in and beyond class)...
Week 1: taking time to re-member our physical body.
Week 2: ...mind.
Week 3: ...emotions.
Week 4: ...spirit.
Then, on week 5, we'll play with and explore the integration of all four, as a way to connect with, appreciate, and celebrate our multi-dimensional, integrative nature.
As always, I can't wait to see what we discover together, friends. Thanks again for the inspiration, Alicia!
See you on the dance floor soon, everybody! 💕
Much love,
Dani
