Hellooooooo sweet friends!
We’re continuing on with our spacious deep-dive series into Re-membering You (inspired by our Aya friend, Alicia Jefferson's podcast), with a special focus this week on: re-membering (reconnecting with, reintegrating) aspects of our mind.

How will we do that?
Well…. I’m not sure exactly. :-)
My main hope, I suppose, is for us to have a little time to play with, consider, respect, and appreciate our amazing minds and all that they do.
Although we aren’t really able to isolate these aspects of the self (body, mind, emotions, spirit) from one another… I’m thinking we can play with simply spending a little time focusing on different aspects of our mind as we dance.
For example, for any given song we might explore our…
Creativity
Awareness
Focus
Reasoning/logic
Problem solving
Perception via senses
Ability to learn
Planning
Predicting
Imagination
Memory
Will/choice
Belief
Desire
Intention
Stream of consciousness
Motivation
Wonder
Theorize
Hypothesize
Curiosity
Experience of time (past, present, future)
Storytelling
Conceptualization
Modeling of the world around us
Coordination
Anticipation
Pattern recognition
Vision
Wow— what a list! Isn’t all that your mind/brain can do incredible? Anything I should add, friends? What did I miss?
Although we won’t be able to touch on every one of these this week, we’ll definitely be able to play with and explore a handful or so each dance.
Are there any aspects you'd especially like to take a little time to "re-member" (reconnect with) or befriend a bit more at this time in your life?
Any parts calling out to you, like “Pick me! Pick me! I want to come out to play more!”
I can’t say I’ve ever focused on our minds in class in quite this same way before. I’m so looking forward to giving this aspect of ourselves some extra love and attention this week, friends. Just in coming up with the above list, I already have more awe, respect, and appreciation for our amazing minds and all they do.
I can’t wait to see what we discover together in the dance this week, friends!
Thanks so much for reading, and see you soon!
Much love,
Dani
