Heya there, beautiful souls!
We’re continuing on with our spacious deep-dive series into Re-membering You (inspired by our Aya friend, Alicia Jefferson's podcast), with a special focus this week on: re-membering (reconnecting with, reintegrating) our emotional self.

This week, we'll be exploring our emotional nature as we dance.
As we move our bodies, we might ask ourselves questions such as:
What emotion am I experiencing in this moment?
What does it feel like in my body? What do I sense/notice?
What might this emotion be telling me?
As the music & movements change:
What emotion does this song help me connect with?
What emotion does this movement help me connect with?
As we play:
What happens if I exaggerate that emotion a bit more?
What does that feel like? What do I notice/sense?
What happens if I minimize that emotion a bit more?
What does that feel like? What do I notice/sense?
As we experiment with connecting with particular emotions:
Do my movements change? If yes, in what ways?
Does my voice change? If yes, in what ways?
Where do I notice this emotion most in my body? What do I sense?
Then... more overall:
What do I notice as I move/express emotions organically as I dance?
Do I feel differently throughout/after class compared to the beginning?
If yes, in what ways?
Are there any emotions that, when I'm feeling them, I won't come to dance?
In terms of "re-membering"
Are there emotions I have disconnected myself from over the years?
Are there emotions I ever avoid letting myself feel in dance (or life)?
Are there emotions I ever avoid letting myself express in dance (or life)?
Are there emotions I'd like to "re-member" -- to befriend and re-integrate into my experience of my wholeness?
Are there any emotions you'd like to experience more of?
When do you typically sense those emotions?
What do they feel like in your body?
Hmmm... I suppose that list will be plenty to explore for this week (haha). :-)
What other ways might we play with our emotional nature, friends?
As always- looking forward to what we discover together on the dance floor this week!
Thanks so much for reading, friends. See you soon!
Much love,
Dani
